The Wildflower Triathlon Experience Announces Full Festival Line-Up for May 4-6th, 2018

Family-Friendly Triathlon Festival Supports Local Bands, Breweries, Businesses –

MONTEREY, Calif.  – Motiv Sports announced today the full festival line-up for the iconic Wildflower Experience. The 35th annual event is renowned for its legendary triathlon and festival experience, which will feature local musicians, restaurateurs, and businesses. Over 5,000 athletes and 15,000 spectators are set to return to the campgrounds and race course at Lake San Antonio in Monterey, CA.

“It has been a joy to watch this race transform into an event that celebrates, family, fitness, healthy lifestyles and the culture of Californias’ Wine country,” said Race Director, Colleen Bousman. “This year’s Wildflower Experience is going to be epic and we are proud to highlight the food, music, wellness, wine, and zest for life that is so representative of the Central Coast.”

This year, the Wildflower Festival will offer a wide variety of local musicians covering bluegrass, jazz, rock ’n roll, country, reggae and swing. These bands include: Moonshiner Collective, Mother Corn Shuckers, GhostMonster, Shawn Clark Family Band, Mark Adams, Kevin Graybill and Where’s Sweeny.  Several gourmet food trucks will be on-site offering a variety of choices to include: organic farm-to-truck dishes, BBQ & sides, specialty kabobs, crepes, smoothies, acai bowls, juice and several coffee vendors. Additionally, Firestone Walker Brewing Company and 15C Wine Bar will host tastings and spirits throughout the weekend.

“We are thrilled to be part of this iconic Central Coast tradition,” said David Walker, Firestone Walker Brewery Company co-founder and CEO. “Wildflower has grown tremendously since 1983, but it’s stayed true to its roots and its support of the local culture and people who call the Central Coast home.”

At the center of the Wildflower Experience are the legendary Wildflower Long Course, Olympic Distance, and Sprint Triathlon races.
