It’s Time to TRI
By: Terry Davis, CEO Wildflower Triathlons
USA Triathlon has launched a new initiative called “TIME TO TRI” to increase the number to triathletes by 100,000 people in the next two years. It is a campaign designed to grow the sport of triathlon at all levels, distances and countries by focusing on youth, women, races, and bringing back past triathletes into the sport. We believe that this is a great program and have decided to focus on a youth program for Wildflower this May.
We at Wildflower Experience and Motiv Sports are committed to doing everything we can to increase the number of triathletes in the sport. Our pledge is to provide a total of 100 complimentary entries to the Wildflower Sprint Triathlon on either Saturday, May 5th (off-road) or Sunday, May 6th (on-road), for youth between the ages of 13-19 years old. These entries are only for those who are completely new to triathlon and who are not currently registered for a triathlon. We are asking you to reach out to your community and offer the Wildflower entries, training advice, and encouragement to young adults. You are in a unique position to take them under your wings, teach them about the sport and introduce them with you to Wildflower. You have the opportunity to help make the triathlon community more diverse and welcoming than ever. There’s no better role model for potential triathletes than those already promoting a healthy, fit, active lifestyle across the nation.
