Wildflower will always hold a special place in my heart. In 2011, it was my first ever long course triathlon, and I’ve raced every Wildflower since then, including the 30th Wildflower which happened to fall on my 30th birthday – what a fun celebration that was!

Wildflower was the race that really got me hooked on long course triathlon. Since my first Wildflower seven years ago, I’ve done four Ironman races and too many 70.3 races to know the exact number. Triathlon has become a huge part of my life.

This past fall, my husband and I welcomed our first child into the world. Having a baby has certainly changed many of our priorities, but making room for exercise is still just as important as it always was. It’s a little trickier than before, but with a little planning we are able to help each other make time for our workouts, and we’re a happier and healthier family because of it!

I’m so excited to see Wildflower come back this year, and I can’t wait to make the trip up to Lake San Antonio in May. I’m looking forward to spending time with my Coeur Sports teammates, reconnecting with friends I’ve made over the years, sharing the atmosphere with my husband and son, and celebrating my birthday by racing the one and only Wildflower.
