I used to be a competitive rock climber and have recently shifted over my passions towards triathlon due to an injury. As a service member of the US Space Force, I represent the USSF at triathlons and love doing long endurance events like Ironman. I’m active in the LA run clubs as well as the SF cycling community. I show a lot of my support and love towards the triathlon community by staying active on the Facebook groups and on my Instagram.

I accepted my son’s challenge to race a triathlon with him in 2009. The first race was an Olympic distance which I did manage to finish. I was instantly bitten by the triathlon bug. Wildflower was such an intimidating, big race, but once I was there I was in awe enjoying all of the experience. I love camping, the expo, the race, environment, and the COMMUNITY! I have made friends at Wildflower that are now lifelong friends. I can’t wait to see the Wildflower Experience go beyond what we have ever experienced prior.

In 2000 I raced my first triathlon – the Wildflower Long Course. That first Wildflower experience 25 years ago taught me that “anything is possible”. This young girl who had a debilitating hip ailment captured her greatest aspirations at that very first Wildflower Triathlon. Not only had I become a top competing elite and age group racer, but I also went on to race Ironman, Ultraman, and the Boston Marathon.

I got into the sport in 2006, Wildflower was always on my bucket list but this time, for the nostalgia for the newness of it, I’m going to be there! I have a Facebook Group with 830 people called Wildflower Triathlon – We are excited to register, train out there, camp out, attend clinics, party at the music festival concert type events, race and share about the great experience.

I’m a Nurse Anesthetist and a mom of 2 boys. I began triathlons in 2015, and fell in love with the community. My favorite distance is the 70.3. I’ve completed Santa Cruz and Oceanside 70.3’s. I’ve escaped from Alcatraz, which was an awesome experience! My local Marin Endurance Fest is close to my heart. It was my first triathlon, and throughout the years I got to prove to myself that hard work pays off and got my first ever age group 1st place win! I’m a big fan of festival type events that get the whole family involved!

So happy this is back!! When I first did Wildflower in 2000 I heard of a program that at the time said you do it 25 years you get lifetime membership for free!! I loved it so much that I was hooked and did it for 23 straight until the last one held! This in 2025 will be my 24th!! And I am so looking forward to it!! Thank you for bringing back my absolute favorite race in the world!! Honored to once again be an ambassador for this race and organization.

HI!! I am SO STOKED! I am an endurance, strength and nutrition coach and also elite athlete. I won W2 in 2019! I LOVE WILDFLOWER. It is no doubt what the tri community has been missing. Community and all the active events that everyone can be involved in. People are still talking about it, in fact this morning my friend up in Paso did it 10 years ago. I am an OG for the Betty Designs Squad and share a love for triathlon and the WILDFLOWER race. Let’s do this!!!!!

Hey everyone, I’m Kaori. A mom to the best toddler boy and our lively husky/boxer/German shepherd mix. I am also a wife to the most supportive husband in life, career, and sport. I discovered triathlon and Wildflower in my first year in college at Cal Poly SLO as a competitive runner and swimmer. This sparked a lifelong journey of racing and coaching. Wildflower has always been my favorite triathlon. As Wildflower’s official photographer for many years, I am beyond thrilled to return in 2025 and to document this incredible comeback!!!

I’m a mom, passionate vegan athlete, and professional model, with a love for creating plant-based meals. Family, fitness, and my career has been an incredible journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My plant-based lifestyle fuels my energy both on and off the track, while modeling allows me to express my creativity and confidence. My life is about embracing balance—nourishing the body, mind, and soul while striving to be a positive role model for my family and fellow athletes in the community.

I started out in triathlon on the Tri Cal kids team in middle school. Triathlon changed my life and set me up for a lifetime of pursuing physical activity. Wildflower also made me want to be a collegiate athlete after watching the college teams race together. Wildflower embodies the spirit of triathlon: people coming together to work through challenges and celebrate each other’s successes, whatever their goals may be. I have already raced 7x.

I started triathlon in 2003 and went to Wildflower to cheer on some friends. I came back to race the Olympic course in 2004. By 2005 I was coaching for Team in Training and had my first finishers cross the line at Wildflower. I brought teams, 9 or 10 more years, raced the Olympic course, Long Course and Squared. My facebook memories start popping up every year the first week in May and all my tri friends start to reminisce about our wonderful memories racing and camping on the same loop. We’re excited to race at Lake San Antonio again!

Hi everyone, I’m a retired professional triathlete and coach with over two decades of experience in endurance sports. As a former collegiate runner, I transitioned to triathlon and quickly fell in love, competing at Wildflower with my now wife and professional athlete, Carrie. I have also been lucky to help countless athletes reach their potential through personalized coaching and training plans. As the founder of KIS Coaching, my philosophy centers on “keeping it simple” while pushing athletes to achieve their best results.

Proud father and husband that races triathlon on the side. Former president of the Santa Cruz Triathlon Association, I have raced Wildflower over the years and (my favorite race that doesn’t exist anymore) the Pacific Grove Triathlon. A member of the Santa Cruz endurance sports community, I am SO excited for Wildflower to return and to promote it here in our beautiful area.
